The project
The cellar was damp and the vaulted ceiling had been cement rendered which totally spoilt an original feature of this old cottage which at one time was an old coaching inn.
Our first task was a physically demanding one , removing the cement render from the vaulted ceiling. We had to remove over 30 bags of cement from the cellar.
A window was installed to create some natural light where the old barrel entrance used to be
then walls were built, plastered and painted.
A new country style door complete with 5 lever lock was also fitted to the cellar staircase entrance.
