Building a stud partition wall and plastering a living room. This was a joinery project were the client wanted to seperate the hallway from their living room. The clients front door entrance led directly into the living room area which during the winter months led to a very cold living room everytime the front door was opened. A stud partition wall was built to section off the living room from the hallway and staircase. We also fitted a new door frame and hung a new pine door. The full room was fully skimmed and a new feature oak mantle installed over the fire place. We also fitted new pine picture rail and 7 ” skirting to to finish the room.
Plaster boarding and skimming walls and ceilings on Beverley Road, Hull. Sometimes the projects we get asked to do are just to make walls and ceilings look good again. Initially we were asked to reboard and skim a very large landing ceiling but the client decided to have all the walls done too. After the area was primer painted we then fitted new coving, picture rail and skirtings. The transformation looked great with all the walls and ceiling been crack and blemish free and ready for the topcoat paint.
The new solid oak mantle is now set in position, walls boarded and skimmed. New plaster coving and skirting are next then the room will be painted out all ready for final top coat finish.
The project is going great. The old chimney breast has been exposed and the bricks reset and pointed. The walls have all been re boarded and we’re ready for plastering.
One of our clients wanted a luxury country style kitchen for their 300 year old farmhouse in a village just outside of Driffield, East Yorkshire. This is a diary of how the work is progressing. Before work could commence we employed a structural engineer to advise on the placement of a steel beam and new lintels as we needed to remove some walls to accommodate the new kitchen layout.
