The project is going great. The old chimney breast has been exposed and the bricks reset and pointed. The walls have all been re boarded and we’re ready for plastering.�

Building a rabbit run

Another day of prep work. Opened up the old chimney for the log burner and the wall is getting built for the new window seat. The first fix electrics and old plumbing to remove and reposition ready for feature radiators.

Dining room. Driffield

Starting the second phase of converting a downstsairs bathroom into a large dining room. A dusty days work of taken down walls,ceilings and removing the old bathroom suite.

French doors

Really happy the weathers been nice this week. We have been busy fitting new French doors, the first part of our next project which is converting downstairs bathroom into a new dining area.

New Extension on Kingswood Hull

ARBcreative can meet all your building requirements. This single storey extension on Kingswood is one project we enjoyed doing because it was designed by us. The original conservatory was taken down and the foundations had to be removed with a breaker and mini digger. Lots of physical hard work was needed to break up and remove over twenty tonnes of concrete and soil which had to be moved by wheel barrow from the back of the house to the skip at the front. Once down to the required depth we had building control come to check it so we could move on to the next stage, shuttering up. We had it shuttered up in a day and had to redirect the soil pipe before we back filled with 200mm of hardcore and 100mm of soft sand. A dpc was then put in before we began the process of putting the steel work in. The raft construction had to be tied into the original foundation with 10mm steel bars with the use of resin anchor system. After another visit from building control we had the go ahead to get the concrete in. Another hard days work, 5 1/2 cube of concrete to move in 3 wheel barrows from the front of the house to the back with a 30 minute window to get it done before we start getting charged extra. Yes we did it, and it took another hour or so to get it tamped.

The following weekend we had the brickwork up to damp course then had to have another inspection by building control before we could continue. Everything was fine so it was onto the next stage, getting the brickwork up to lintel height. Timber formers were put in for the windows and door openings then after two days work we were ready to get the roof timbers on.

Roof timbers on and a visit from building control and we are ready to get the roof tiles on. The double glazing was the next task on the agenda along with the fascia and soffits. Once completed the new gutters and drainpipes were fitted. At last the outside was finished, it was now time to start work on the interior of the build.

The original exterior doorway now needed to be removed, joists fitted and flooring put down. The brickwork above the door and window were supported with akro props, the door/bricks removed and new lintel fitted. New cables were laid for sockets and lighting before the room was plaster boarded out. Extra insulation was fitted to the underside of the rafters and then this was then plaster boarded.

After the room had been skim plastered we set about the final stage of the project. The room was painted, the second fix electrics done and then solid oak flooring laid before the skirting boards were fitted. The final finish looks amazing with the modern low voltage lighting feature with chrome and black iridium fixtures.

The first walls started, just another two to start on this bin/log storage area.Once complete we can then get the roof on.

Plinth lights

Easy morning fitting led plinth lighting . Its the finishing touches that make the difference.

Another nice project to be involved in, a utility kitchen to fit. Natural Travertine floor tiles were laid first and then we began the kitchen fit. The worktop is oak block laminate and the doors are also oak with chrome handles.
